James Hall & Co. Ltd freshens up fillings in new SPAR Food To Go range as Marie Curie sandwich sales reach £250,000 in donations

Four delicious new fillings have freshened up SPAR’s sandwich range as James Hall & Co. Ltd launched its updated Food To Go lines.

Available in SPAR stores across the North of England, new sandwich flavours include the Chicken Club, Honey and Mustard Chicken, Cheese and Carrot Chutney, and a Seafood Cocktail.

The quartet of new products are part of a 24-strong range of sandwiches made by the Great Northern Sandwich Company, one of James Hall & Co. Ltd’s Group of Companies, and are included within SPAR’s great value lunchtime meal deal.

Complementing the new sandwiches launched by James Hall & Co. Ltd are three tasty new wraps that have been introduced to the SPAR Food To Go range including a Cajun Chicken, Onion Bhaji, and a Tomato and Basil offering.

One penny from every SPAR sandwich or wrap sold in a store in Northern England goes to SPAR UK’s principal charity partner Marie Curie, and the new fillings have launched just as sale donations have hit the £250,000 milestone for the UK’s leading end of life care charity.

All the new SPAR branded products are benefiting from revised, eye-catching packaging too with designs in a variety of standout colours.

Other new Food To Go additions customers can expect to see in SPAR stores in Northern England are mouth-watering lunchbox size quiches in cheese and ham and cheese and onion flavours, manufactured by Clayton Park Bakery, another of James Hall & Co. Ltd’s leading brands. New Clayton Park Bakery sausage and cheese and onion rolls complete the revamped range.

James Hall & Co. Ltd is SPAR UK’s primary wholesale and distributor for the North of England, and services 600 SPAR stores across the region from its base at Bowland View in Preston.

Rebecca Billington, Junior Trading Manager for Fresh Food To Go at James Hall & Co. Ltd, said: “Food To Go is a huge part of our business and we refresh our offer periodically to ensure customers are seeing an evolving range in our SPAR stores, and that they have something new to try.

“Our Food To Go team at James Hall & Co. Ltd has worked hard on the new range and we’re excited by the new fillings that have launched. These include some classic favourites and trending flavours not previously within the range of SPAR sandwiches.

“We also take pride in the fact that our high-quality sandwich range offers customers a fantastic value and healthy lunchtime meal, and this contributes funding to a wonderful charity in Marie Curie that we are delighted to be associated with.”

Marie Curie Head of Partnerships Manager, Tom Heron, said: “A huge thank you SPAR customers and the Food To Go team at James Hall & Co. Ltd for an incredible 25 million sandwiches sold in aid of Marie Curie.

“Your support means a better end of life for people in the UK. We wish the revamped range every success.”
