Promethean supports Blackburn Rovers Community Trust with £15k edtech donation

Award-winning ActivPanel set to enhance charity’s community engagement and education

Global education technology company, Promethean, has gifted five of its market-leading interactive flat panel displays to Blackburn Rovers Community Trust. Valued at around £15,000, the donation will enhance the charity’s community engagement and education programmes by providing access to Promethean’s state-of-the art ActivPanels.

Installed in classrooms at the charity’s Ewood Park facility, the ActivPanels will be used to support the full range of activities hosted by the centre. These include its NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) programmes and Holiday Hunger clubs, where the ActivPanel will be used to create engaging learning and development experiences.

Gary Robinson, CEO at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust explains why Promethean’s support is so valuable: “We have to raise £2m every year just to keep our essential programmes running. The generous donation of five ActivPanels has elevated our service provision overnight, giving all our community and education groups access to state-of-the-art technology that would never have been possible otherwise. We cannot thank Promethean enough.”

As a business that was born and bred on the Whitebirk Industrial Estate, Promethean is now a global leader in the interactive displays market, transforming the way the world learns and collaborates. Jim Wallis, Head of UKI Market at Promethean, comments: “Since starting out in Blackburn more than 25 years ago, we now operate in more than 100 countries worldwide – but we never forget our roots.

“Education has always been at the heart of everything we do, and community is at the heart of education. That’s why we’re proud to support Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and look forward to exploring how we can strengthen this community partnership in the future.”

The Promethean ActivPanel is an award-winning interactive flat panel display packed full of powerful apps and digital tools that help make teaching and learning more engaging and impactful. Used in more than 1.7 million classrooms worldwide, the ActivPanel is the market-leading brand globally.
