Lancashire’s exclusive supercar showcase celebrates roaring success for local charity

SUPERCAR Showtime – the exclusive showcase of the world’s greatest supercars held right here in Lancashire – has raised more than £30,000 for a children’s hospice.

The sell-out event, that returned this year (12 June) for its fourth year after a break during COVID, drew in over 5,000 supercar fans from across the UK and raised the phenomenal amount for Chorley-based charity Derian House.

More than 150 supercars revved up to the historic grounds of Hoghton Tower, including classic supercars of yesteryear through to modern day hypercars, with rare and unique models from Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, TVR, Aston Martin, Ford and many more.

Attractions on the day included live music, a pop-up art gallery, a fashion show, and a charity auction with motoring and luxury experiences up for grabs, from supercars for the weekend to holidays and yacht charters. Visitors were also able to take a tour of Hoghton Tower to learn about the building’s thousand-year history.

With headline sponsorship from Porsche Centre Bolton, and further sponsors including Lamborghini Manchester, Amari Supercars, Hepplestone Fine Art, Lloyd BMW Blackpool, Ribby Hall Village, AB Sundecks, Becketts Wealth Management, Shepherds Boat Sales, TVR Car Club, Gillet Environmental, Lee Mayor Restorations, D&G Builders & Joiners and MBW Europe, the event brought together people from across the UK to enjoy a day to remember.

The supercar event is organised by husband and wife team and Derian Community Ambassadors, Nick and Karen Isherwood, who live in Chorley with their two children.

Nick Isherwood said: “Supercar Showtime was first held in a pub car park in 2017 and since then we have managed to raise more than £130,000 for Derian House.

“I knew the supercar community could do more collectively to showcase these amazing cars and at the same time create an opportunity for owners and visitors to give back.

“We are absolutely delighted and overwhelmed with the positive feedback we have received from the 2022 event and pleased we could host the event again post pandemic.

“We wanted to associate with a charity that really plays a pivotal role in our local community and knowing about the incredible environment that Derian House creates for children and young adults with rare and complex needs, it seemed a perfect fit. You just never know what is going to happen to you in life, and Derian House are there for families who need them the most.”

Karen Isherwood added: “We’re so fortunate to be supported by local and national businesses to make this event possible and would like to thank them and Hoghton Tower for helping us to host our events.

“We’d also like to thank all of our amazing volunteers, particularly Rachel Waite our auction manager, Heath Briggs from TVR X-Works service who led the access team on the day, and Wayne Goodman our Social Media manager.

“It’s just a great day out, plus you’re making a direct difference to local families.”

Derian House Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative, respite and end-of-life care for children and young adults throughout the North West.

Mick Croskery, Fundraising Manager at Derian House, said: “It’s great to see that Supercar Showtime came back with a bang.

“We’re so thankful to organisers and our Community Ambassadors, Nick and Karen, for their dedication and the effort they put into pulling such a huge event together.

“It’s only down to events such as these that we are able to continue caring for children with life-limiting conditions now and in the future.”
