Blackburn Manufacturer Pledges £60,000 in Education Technology Prizes

Promethean®, a leading global education company based in Blackburn, has pledged £60,000 in edtech prizes as it launches a new competition that gives schools the opportunity to share their most passionate, innovative, and imaginative education stories.

Over the past four years, Promethean has awarded more than £100,000 in edtech prizes, with North West schools consistently emerging as winners. Tottington Primary School, All Saints Hesketh with Becconsall CE Primary, Coupe Green Primary, and Oak House Nursery, have all previously won Promethean ActivPanel® packages, giving them access to state-of-the-art interactive technology with full training and support.
As this year’s competition opens for entries, Promethean is encouraging schools from across the North West to compete against educators from around the UK and Ireland for a chance of winning one of 20 edtech packages worth up to £3,000 each.

To enter, educators simply need to record a short video that illustrates something unique about their classroom or school, explain why it makes them proud, and upload it to the Promethean Classroom Stories website before 25th June 2021.

Having participated in the judging process for Promethean’s previous edtech competitions, Jim Wallis, head of UKI at Promethean, shares his thoughts on why he believes this year will be so special: “If the last 12 months have shown us anything, it’s that educators – and students – have an unbelievable amount of resilience. From working with our customers, we’ve seen incredible resolve and unwavering positivity – this is exactly what we want to celebrate with the Promethean Classroom Stories competition. We aim to give schools the opportunity to share their experiences and anything that has made them proud, with the 20 most passionate, innovative, and imaginative set to win.”

Alongside Jim on the judging panel will be Alex Bramley, a year 6 teacher and former Promethean competition winner, and Andrew Murden, board member at education technology association, Naace.

The Promethean ActivPanel is a powerful, teacher-friendly interactive flat panel display. With interactive software and tools, the ActivPanel helps teachers engage students in the classroom and support those learning from home in hybrid teaching scenarios.

The Promethean Classroom Stories competition is open for entries from 22nd March to 25th June 2021. For details on how to enter and full terms and conditions, please visit www.prometheanworld.com/gb/classroom-stories
