Virtual Work Experience for Students Through Blackburn College and Springpod Partnership

Blackburn College has partnered with Springpod to provide innovative Virtual Work Experience opportunities to its students.

The College joins major Employers across the UK in working with Springpod. Students at Blackburn College will be able to attend online live workshops with professionals, complete real projects to show Employers what they can do, learn new skills while developing industry knowledge and build their profile, portfolio and CV.

The Virtual Work Experience programmes last for one or two weeks and they are an extra addition to Blackburn College’s student offer. They are designed to unleash students’ potential and help them gain experience with top Employers within the most sought-after industries across the country.

Claire Shore, Senior Business Development Executive at Blackburn College, said: “Our Work Placement Team have partnered with Springpod to develop a fantastic Virtual Work Experience programme on an innovative web-based digital platform. This will support our students in developing essential skills and will enhance real work placement opportunities post-lockdown.

“Interactive modules start in March and will include Communication, Teamwork and Resilience. In addition, there will be two webinars including live interactions with key Employers. Modules will be released at monthly intervals and all students will undertake them on their allotted work placement days. The expected completion date is May and on completion students will receive a certificate.

“The programme will equip students with core skills to help them successfully progress in their future careers. Springpod also offer opportunities for students to partake in Insight Days and subject-specific Virtual Work Experience.”

Oliver Fisher, Co-Founder and CMO at Springpod, said: “Now, more than ever, we must equip young people with the core skills and opportunities to help them succeed in a very competitive job market.

“Virtual Work Experience does just that and we are proud to be partnering with Blackburn College to enable all their students to gain vital experience and learn about different pathways available after College.

“Blackburn College joins key Employers including Airbus, Jaguar Land Rover and the NHS who have all recognised the benefits of our innovative careers enablement solutions.”
