Evolution Solutions, based in Haslingdon and employing six team members, has just completed its first year in business and is already starting to see the benefits of its research into this new evolving market, and its associated strategy for installations, both in homes and at workplaces.
As the growth of electric and hybrid cars continues at a phenomenal rate, linked to the UK Government’s policy of banning new petrol and diesel cars sales from 2030, first time owners need to consider the practicalities of how to charge their new electric vehicle.
There are three options: charging the vehicle at home, at work or at a public shared facility (like a petrol station), with each option having its pros and cons.
Commented Director of Evolution Solutions, Darren Turner: “When we looked at the market, we quickly realised that there was an opportunity to build a quality business, based on being an accredited installer, who could also offer OLEV (Office for Low Emission Vehicles) grants of up to £350 as an incentive.
“We are now celebrating our first year’s anniversary, when we have established the business and installed over 150 charging points, in homes and workplaces, setting a target to increase the installations by ten-fold in 2021.
“Our aim is to make the installation experience as stress free as possible, by offering a 14-day guaranteed ‘order to installation’ process, which includes completing the OLEV paperwork.
“Once we have done the initial survey (either virtual (home) or on-site (workplace), we’ll install the charging point in one day, usually within 10 meters of your electricity meter.
“As we continue to grow throughout the North West of England, our aim is to become the UK’s No1 installer.
“To achieve this, we need to develop partnerships like the ones we have with Business Lancashire, car dealerships and charger manufacturers, such as Pod-Point, Zappi, EO & Wallbox.”
