LANCASHIRE FARM DAIRIES HITS RECORD £45M TURNOVER

Family-owned Lancashire Farm Dairies has posted record turnover of £44.9m – an annual increase of 18 per cent.
The figures are for the year ending January 31, 2020 and the Rochdale-based business is now the third largest natural yogurt brand in the UK.

Lancashire Farm Dairies smashed its original target of £40m turnover on the back of a huge surge in demand for its free range natural yogurt products.
The company has increased its presence in all the major retailers and is the only brand to commit that the milk that goes into their products comes from cows which graze for nearly half the year.

Managing Director Azhar Zouq said the business has performed remarkably well despite the ongoing challenge of Covid-19.
He said: “Gains within the retail grocery market have offset weaker performance in wholesale and catering markets. Navigating through this period has been extremely challenging. We’re fortunate that we have a stable business with many markets.”
Lancashire Farm Dairies was founded in 1984 and grew steadily to reach £4m turnover in 2010 and £25m in 2015.

It has benefited from making a number of multi-million pound investments in recent years, including in their automation process, and now employs 220 people.
Their products are stocked at all the big supermarkets including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Iceland, Co-op, Aldi, Lidl and Booths.

Lancashire Farm Dairies has contributed more than £530,000 in charitable donations this year, an increase from £162,000 the prior year. Projects supported were both local and international, including providing food and medical supplies to refugees in Yemen.
