Bensons for Beds has launched a recruitment drive at its northern logistics and distribution centre to meet increased demand after beginning a significant transformation programme following refinancing in June.
The UK’s leading bed specialist has created 37 new jobs at its site in Huncoat, Lancashire, to work as warehouse operatives and delivery drivers.
So far, it has filled 26 posts and is seeking to fill another 11 vacancies for drivers based at Huncoat, near the group’s head office in Accrington.
Bensons is the largest bed retailer in the UK with more than 200 stores. It also has distribution centres in Ayr and Tewkesbury, as well as a dedicated manufacturing site in Huntingdon. It employs more than 1,500 people nationwide.
Bensons emerged as a standalone business in June following a restructuring deal that injected £25 million of new investment to grow the business.
Bensons chief operating officer Joe Wykes said: “Sales are running ahead of our expectations as we emerge from refinancing as a refocused and resilient business.
“That’s why we’re looking for additional colleagues at Huncoat to help us deliver, literally, to customers.”
All Bensons’ stores are open and trading in line with government safety and hygiene guidelines, protecting colleagues and customers.
