Chorley Council has recently commissioned a new contract with FSB member Crowberry Consulting® Ltd to support its journey to net carbon zero. The Chorley based sustainability consultancy will be providing a strategic gap analysis to the team to highlight areas that require strengthening to support the journey. Crowberry Consulting’s Managing Director Becky Toal said; “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract to support our local council on the vitally important target of net carbon zero. We have over 20 years of experience in the field of energy and environmental management which will support the Council to achieve this target aligned with strategic objectives and plans. Many local authorities are bringing forward the 2050 government deadline and Chorley Council is no different, working towards 2030 as its goal.”
The project will be cross cutting through all the Councils departments to seek the views of the interested parties and understand the current risk and opportunities that climate change and environmental management poses to the Chorley area.
Crowberry Consulting was established in 2006 and supports clients with sustainability matters including ISO standards for energy, environment and ethical issues. The team provide training, audits and consultancy on these subjects to a range of diverse sectors.
Councillor Alistair Bradley, Leader of Chorley Council: “It’s important that we work towards our target of net carbon zero by 2030 and it’s great to be working with an experienced local company to help us achieve this. The work will span all departments of the council, looking at areas in which we can make positive changes to help reach our target.”
