Local global agronomy experts are in demand

Bilsborrow based Levity CropScience, one of the UK’s leading agronomy companies, has once again demonstrated its global technical and scientific expertise by discussing and publishing two scientific papers at an international conference in the UK.

At the recent conference in Dundee, co-managing director, David Marks, outlined a paper on improving wheat production and Sally Wilkinson, Head of Research, a paper on improving potato production, by utilising its research-backed portfolio of innovative smart fertiliser products, resulting in larger and more resilient yields.

The aim of the Conference was to bring together farmers, agricultural and horticultural advisers, the technical staff of the agricultural chemical trade and advisory, research and government organisations, to discuss crop production and protection problems prevalent in northern environments.

Anna Weston, co-managing director, Levity CropScience, said: “We were delighted to be the only agronomy company from Lancashire to be selected to speak at this conference, which demonstrates our growing reputation as a leading authority on crop nutrition, through better efficient use of nitrogen in fertilisers.

“Both our papers highlighted our applied scientific approach to increasing yields and were then peer reviewed prior to publication. Levity places great importance on conducting real research, as it gives farmers confidence that our wheat and potato products are based on sound science.

“Hopefully, this will now help us to continue to develop new international and domestic markets, since before these publications, we were already seeing an unparalleled demand for information on the benefits of using our products and the resultant improvements in yields and growing techniques.”
