Preston-based Plumbs wins top reupholstery award

Plumbs, the UK’s number one name in recovering sofas and chairs, has taken the title ‘Best Furniture Reupholstery Company 2019′ in a national awards scheme.

The family-owned company’s success in the third annual UK Enterprise Awards has been announced by SME News, a quarterly digital publication for small and medium-sized businesses in the UK.

Established more than 60 years ago, Preston-based Plumbs began on the market stalls of Lancashire, went on to sell stretch covers and has since introduced made-to-measure covers, a full reupholstery service and luxury bedding offer. It operates across the UK through a network of 120 home consultants and is now the country’s biggest provider of recovering and reupholstery services for the home.

Said md Sarah Page, granddaughter of founder Tom Plumb: “We’re absolutely delighted to have won this category in the awards. Judges scrutinised everything from our products and services to our dedication to the industry and client testimonials. So we feel this is a truly deserved win – and a testament to the hard work of everyone employed by and working with the company.”
