Digital Lancashire has appointed Duncan Sandford as their new Managing Director as the organisation continues to further cement themselves as the voice of digital in the region.
Digital Lancashire is committed to accelerating and maturing the digital economy within the whole of Lancashire at every level across all social and enterprise networks, and Duncan’s role will be to deliver a new strategy to enhance and sustain Digital Lancashire’s critical role by focussing on skills, networking & events, and knowledge in the sector.
Duncan has worked in the Digital sector, both as a business owner and consultant for over 20 years. After gaining an Economics degree at Aberystwyth, Duncan worked in several Blue-Chip companies before moving into the agency world, holding board positions in numerous agencies and advising and working with venture capitalists. He also founded and managed his own digital and data agency for 14 years.

Digital Lancashire is the recognised sector expert and thought leader for many of the key organisations, from local government, academic institutions, education, employment and training groups and operates a highly progressive, collaborative approach to emphasising the massive impact digital is continuing to have in the region. The membership-based organisation links industry and digital businesses to create tangible economic value in the region.
Sandford said, ’There is a big educational challenge to communicate, clarify and change the perceptions that exist about digital, how powerful it can be and how vital it is that we achieve heavy investment into every aspect of the sector. We have exciting programs of events and workshops planned over the next two years and will work tirelessly to link digital, industry and economic value.’
