Lloyd BMW helps Colne & Nelson Rugby Club achieve success

Colne & Nelson Rugby Club has won the Halbro North West Leagues – Division 2 North title, following support from Lloyd BMW.

At the start of the season, Lloyd BMW, which has dealerships in Colne, Blackpool and Grange-over-Sands, donated more than 50 Rugby balls, new goal posts protectors and corner flags, as well as sponsoring the club’s kits.

The squad of 45 rugby union players subsequently won the league with two games to spare. Season’s highlights included a 78-12 win over Fleetwood RUFC and a 67-14 win over second placed Bolton RUFC.

Matt Tindall, First Team Coach, Colne & Nelson RUFC, said: “Winning the league means we’re now six tiers from Premiership Rugby Union. Lloyd BMW’s generous donation of vital training equipment as well as their kit sponsorship gave the club a great footing throughout the season, I’d like to thank them on behalf of the club and hope we continue this great relationship for years to come.”

Stephanie de Looze, Marketing Manager, Lloyd BMW, added: “I’m thrilled that Colne & Nelson RUFC have won their league. Success like this shows the value of local businesses supporting local projects. We enjoy following their hard work and hope to continue to support the Rugby club.”
