School raises the roof after homebuilder donation

Woodplumpton St Anne’s Primary School has received a generous donation of £1,000 from national homebuilder, Taylor Wimpey North West.

The cash boost will be used to contribute towards a brand-new roof for the primary school, which after struggling with leaks for over a year have been left with no option but to replace the entire roof top.

Mrs Campbell, headteacher at Woodplumpton St Anne’s Primary School, commented: “As you can imagine, a new roof is not cheap, so we are currently underway with a major fundraising project to help us fund the new roof.

“Donations like this from Taylor Wimpey really make all the difference and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.”

Stuart Craig, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We always look to invest in the communities in which we build and when we heard about the school’s need for a new roof, we were really keen to offer our support and help them get the new roof they so desperately need.

“Woodplumpton St Anne’s is a small school located just around the corner from our Hayfield Park development and it really is a school at the heart of the community. It’s likely some of our younger residents, and lots of children in the local community, will benefit from the new roof in the years to come so we were more than happy to help.”
