Baines Wilson celebrates year of success

Staff at Lancaster based law firm Baines Wilson are celebrating the end of one of the firm’s most successful years to date.

2018 saw Baines Wilson recognised in both Chambers and Legal 500, cementing their position as one of the North’s leading law firms for business.  They were the winners of the BECBC Business Award for Developing the Next Generation and were also shortlisted for BECBC Inspiring People Award.   After launching a major recruitment drive, the number of people applying to Baines Wilson for a training contract increased by 182%.

The firm has also enjoyed significant growth; five people have been appointed to the Commercial Property team, one to the Employment team and two trainees have started with the firm. There have also been several promotions; two lawyers have been promoted to Partner and their Marketing Assistant was promoted. Additionally, head of Commercial Property Sean Logue featured in Legal 500’s list of outstanding lawyers in the North, and the Corporate team were the only Lancaster Corporate team to be recognised by Chambers and Partners – the leading guide to the best law firms in the UK.

Committed to supporting local business, Baines Wilson gave 7 employment seminars and 8 specialist business briefings attended by around 445 HR professionals.

Joanne Holborn from Baines Wilson said “2018 has been a fantastic year for us and we’re excited about what 2019 may bring.”
