Work colleagues at Security Distributor Norbain were so grateful and relieved to have Michelle Worthington back amongst their number that they said thank you with a £1,700 donation to Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
Last year, internal sales engineer Michelle was off for four months undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment for cervical cancer at Rosemere Cancer Centre, the region’s specialist cancer treatment centre at the Royal Preston Hospital.
Now in remission and back at her desk, Michelle organised a company-wide raffle and fun day that included a treasure hunt and quiz to raise money for the charity, which supports a variety of projects at the centre and other local hospital cancer units, including that at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
Michelle said: “Throughout my treatment, Norbain and my colleagues have been brilliant in terms of supporting me. I also received excellent care at Rosemere Cancer Centre so wanted to thank everyone for their help and consideration.”
She added: “True to form, the fun day and raffle were both very well received and exceeded the amount of money I originally thought they would raise.”
