Birchall Blackburn Law has announced that newly-qualified solicitor, Hanna Smith, will join the specialist property department based in Preston.
Hanna joined the firm in July 2015 as conveyancing support in the ‘post completion team’ in Manchester before quickly becoming a trainee solicitor in March 2016.
She graduated from Manchester University in 2014 with an LLB degree in Law and then in 2015 with a distinction in her LPC from the University of Law (Manchester). She has extensive experience of working within various property departments.
In January 2017, Hanna transferred to the firm’s ‘specialist property team’. The team is based at both the Preston and Leyland offices and has seen continued growth.
The ‘specialist property team’ deals with property transactions that require niche expertise. As well as residential property, the team helps clients within specialist areas of property law, such as as bridging finance, auctions, adverse possession, receiver sales, lease extensions, development land, commercial property acquisitions and leases, and small business acquisitions.
On joining the ‘specialist property team’, Hanna said: “I’m really excited about focusing on this specialist area of law and to be working with such a dynamic team. There are genuine chances for progression and I’ll be given a lot of responsibility in the role.”
In her spare time, Hanna is the chairperson of the Leyland Squash Club and is enjoying renovating the home she recently bought with the help of her friends and family.
Jane Lockwood, partner and expert in specialist property law, said: “Hanna has been a highly capable and reliable trainee. She has always been keen to expand her expertise and gain knowledge and experience is all different types of property transactions.
“Hanna has now qualified with extensive knowledge and ability. Whilst she is capable of dealing with different types of property transactions, her main interest and specialism is commercial property, including pension trustee acquisitions, commercial leases, deed of easements, and land disposals.”
