Online security should be at the forefront of every business owners mind. If you want to know how you would cope with an incident, come along to a free workshop session being run by the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit who are working in partnership with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
The event is aimed at representatives from small to medium businesses (made up of roughly 100 – 250 people) and aims to demonstrate a brand new exercising product including advice, scenarios and supporting material which will provide your organisation with everything it needs to run and facilitate exercises from start to finish. It can also be used by non-cyber specialist staff.
The NCSC recognise that “Exercising” or testing is one of the most powerful approaches that a company can undertake to gauge their ability to manage cyber-attacks and improve their security. To date, the ability for SMEs to test themselves has often been difficult due to costs or complexity. This tool addresses those concerns and will be provided to you on the day.
It really is a unique innovation and an opportunity for you to be one of the first 20 companies who gets to trial the product before it is launched.
The session will take place on Monday 12th November at the Preston Marriott Hotel, Garstang Road, Preston, PR3 5JB between 11:00hrs and 14:00hrs. A light buffet lunch will also be provided.
Cyber Protect Officer Helen Williams from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit, said: “It really is a unique innovation and an opportunity for you to be one of the first 20 companies who gets to trial the product before it is launched. This product has been commissioned by the NCSC initially for the SME community and Local Government with a view to later scaling for other sectors who will also benefit, so your help and feedback will help us to improve it for everyone going forward.”
This event is on a first come first served basis, so please register as soon as possible.
