National awards hattrick for CityBlock

Lancaster-based student accommodation provider, CityBlock, is celebrating after being shortlisted for three prominent awards at Property Week’s national Student Accommodation Awards 2018.

CityBlock, which develops and manages purpose-built student accommodation across the UK, including sites in Lancaster, Reading and Durham, will now go head-to-head with other leading industry heavyweights at a ceremony in London on 12 December 2018.

The Property Week shortlists – for Operator of the Year, Developer of the Year and Private Halls of Residence of the Year categories – add to the growing list of accolades earned by the company in recent years, which also include being named as Best Moving-In Experience 2017, becoming ANUK accredited across all sites, and securing an International Quality Award 2018.

Trevor Bargh, CEO of CityBlock, commented: “CityBlock has had a phenomenal 12 months which saw us deliver two new developments in Lancaster and Reading, plus commence construction on a further two sites in Lancaster. To support the company’s growth we have welcomed new team members and we’re continuing to work with universities in cities where we know well managed accommodation is in demand.

“What continues to set us apart is the continual focus on the post-construction operational management of each building; we make sure we deliver properties in which occupants will thrive, putting the wellbeing of students, and the staff who manage the buildings, to the forefront. This is part of the reason why we’ve been recognised in both the operator and developer categories.

“Being shortlisted for three Property Week Student Accommodation awards is recognition for the transformational approach we take and we look forward to exemplifying this in our upcoming developments.”
