Chorley business announced as Innovation Showcase Competition finalist

Chorley-based business Fulfilmentcrowd has been shortlisted in the Digital Innovation category at the Innovation Showcase Competition.

The firm has been nominated for its fulfilment technology that helps with the picking and packing of orders across the UK

Now in its fifth year, the contest – which is part of the Venturefest North West conference and exhibition –  was open to small and medium-sized businesses from across the North West and attracted 173 entrants competing for four awards: Product Innovation, Service Innovation, Digital Innovation and Innovative Established Business. There’s also an Overall Winner and Audience Winner, which will be chosen by attendees at Venturefest North West 2018 after the finalists make their pitches at the event on Thursday 13 September at Manchester Central.

In the Innovative Established Business category, Fulfilmentcrowd is up against Telcom, a telecommunications firm based in Manchester, and Whitham Mills Engineering, a manufacturer from Middleton. Nine other businesses from across the North West are nominated in the three other categories.

Each award comes with a package of business support for the winner, provided by organisers GC Business Growth Hub and its partners. The competition is part of the Venturefest North West 2018 programme, sponsored by NatWest, Dehns, Manchester Metropolitan University and Pomegranate Consulting.

More than 1,000 attendees are expected at the event, where they will have access to business leaders and entrepreneurs, potential new partners, collaboration opportunities and a wide range of support.

Matt Simmons, Business Development Manager for Fulfilmentcrowd, said: “As a business we pride ourselves on taking an innovative and disruptive approach to fulfilment. Being nominated for an Innovation Showcase Award is therefore great news, especially as our sector has a reputation for being resistant to change. We’re also proud to be flying the flag for Lancashire at Venturefest North West, and we are looking forward to pitching Fulfilmentcrowd to potential customers, investors and partners in Manchester next week.”
