Lustalux helps wrap up landmark new leisure facility

Preston-based window film experts, Lustalux, has helped complete a landmark development project for a state-of-the-art new leisure facility.

Lustalux Ltd was commissioned to install Architectural Vinyl Wrapping and Window Film on The Flower Bowl project, which is part of The Barton Grange Garden Centre in Lancashire.

The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre, which is being hailed as the North West’s newest and most unusual leisure venue, offers a range of activities under one grass-covered roof including a cinema, ice rink with curling facilities, ten pin bowling, crazy golf & golf simulators, restaurants and coffee shop.

The large, single storey building (4,200m2) will reportedly in the future graze sheep on the grass roof.

Richard Lancaster, Managing Director of Lustalux, said: “We were proud to be involved in such an iconic building, performing our biggest Architectural Vinyl Wrapping project to date. It’s certainly the most innovative leisure destination we’ve been a part of and we’re excited for everyone to see our amazing work, as well as all the other suppliers who have worked on the project. It’s been many months of waiting for the complex to open but we’re confident the public will agree it is certainly worth the wait!”

The work required doors and walls being wrapped in specific wood grain effects and digitally printed designs in keeping with the very high-level of finish demanded throughout the venue by the owners.

In addition to the architectural vinyl wrapping, Lustalux installed a striking blue solar control window film to the fish and chip restaurant windows.

Work for the project was divided between Lustalux’s Preston workshop and the site itself. Doors were delivered to Lustalux’s main HQ premises which were then prepared and wrapped before being transported to site ready for hanging. The wood grain effect for the walls and other surfaces were applied on site.

The wood grain effect was achieved with a vinyl from the Cover Styl’ range of surface films. B6 was selected to give a warm contemporary light oak type finish. It provided a natural look to a host of surfaces combining an authentic appearance with durability, water, abrasion and impact resistance as well as low maintenance.

Doors, walls, counters, desks and cupboards are often transformed during fit out or refurbishment projects as they are cost effective and quick to deliver, saving client’s thousands of pounds. Replica finishes normally include concrete, leather, wood and stone. A plethora of colours and quirky effects can also be achieved.
