Buckle up for #AmazingAccrington Town Takeover

Whitebirk-based, award-winning company, Hippo Motor Group has announced its sponsorship of the family-friendly #AmazingAccrington Rally challenge, September 1 2018.

With several locations throughout Accrington, the free event is set to be huge, with events including;

-Rally Challenge event, September 1 10am-4pm, including

-Supercar display outside the Town Hall

-Live Rally Car Demonstrations at Accrington and Rossendale College Sandy Lane Car Park

-100 Classic and Supercars to take place in the ‘Treasure Hunt’

Fahad Hussain, Hippo Motor Group Marketing Manager said: “Sponsoring the #AmazingAccrington Rally Challenge event is a great opportunity for us at Hippo Motor, not only is it an event we are really excited to attend, but it’s also right on our doorstep. It’s important for us to support the community around us and events like this bring everyone together.”

Hippo Motor Group, an award-winning company, are no stranger to trading in the Lancashire area, with a history dating back to 1906. They have evolved over the years and now deliver prestige, lease and used vehicles as well as finance and servicing solutions.

Tom Preston, Managing Director of Hippo Motor Group, is an accomplished Rally Driver and is offering one lucky person a ride out in it on the day of the event.

Tom commented: “I have just got back from a Rally in Barbados and I’m excited to show people my Skoda rally car I used there, it will be on display at the #AmazingAccrington event. As a special treat we will be choosing one lucky person to take a ride out in it during the demonstration too!

I think it’s great events like this are being organised for the people of Hyndburn, and beyond – I’m sure families and individuals will also be travelling far and wide to join in.”

Miles Parkinson, Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council said: “The Rally Challenge is part of the #AmazingAccrington ‘town takeover’, we have attractions and stalls all over the town on the day including live demonstrations, static display of supercars and our very first #AmazingAccrington rally challenge treasure trail with a prize draw of £200 on the day.

“A huge thanks goes to Hippo Motor Group for coming on-board as the sponsor, it’s because of businesses like them that we can offer large family friendly events and celebrate our community together.”

Treasure hunt, a driving challenge treasure trail around the war memorials in Hyndburn, including a clue on the new town square, this is to commemorate the new town square, the centenary of the end of World War 1 and The Accrington Pals.

To enter into the treasure hunt, cars must be registered. If anyone wishes to enter their car for part of the event visit the Amazing Accrington website for more information. Entry forms will also be available on the day from outside the Market Hall or up at Accrington and Rossendale College.

The Rally Challenge event will run alongside The Chocolate Festival sponsored by Property Shop and The Soapbox Challenge sponsored by Emerson and Renwick, a true town takeover to remember, with something for everyone.
