Vincents grows workplace injury team

Vincents’ growing personal injury department has recruited yet again to help deal with an increasing number of workplace accident claims. Senior Litigation Executive Tracy Stanbridge brings to the team almost 15 years’ experience working on Employer and Public Liability cases.

She joins Vincents from Scott Rees in Skelmersdale, prior to which she worked at Curtis Law and Birchall Blackburn. Tracy will be offering a regular advice surgery to give people who have been injured at work or in a workplace, information about making a claim. The weekly clinics will be every Tuesday morning from September at the Winckley Square office.

She said: “A lot of people, particularly older people who ‘don’t want to be a nuisance’, aren’t sure if they should make a claim. But anyone injured at work or in a workplace has the right to claim compensation and perhaps get changes made to help others in the future. A walk-in surgery gives people the chance to have an informal chat and get all the information they need to make the decision which is right for them.

“These cases are often quite complex but they usually boil down to an employer having not provided enough safeguarding or training for their employees. Whether someone has tripped in an office or fallen from height on a construction site, there are measures which are meant to keep employees safe.

“Where there is a failing and someone gets hurt, it is our job to highlight where things have gone wrong and to fight for our client’s compensation. It also important companies and organisations to learn lessons from these incidents and work hard to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself.

“We can make a real difference in our client’s lives, not only by securing their compensation but by showing that they are cared for and they do matter. We can help them to get the medical or long term help they need, and give them the peace of mind that something has been done to encourage the employer take action to prevent it from happening again to someone else.”

Despite the Health and Safety Executive recording a drop in accidents at work nationally, Vincents has seen its workload in this area increase over recent months, prompting the recruitment drive.

Director Olivia Robinson, Head of the Employer and Public Liability Department, said: “Tracy has a vast amount of experience in this sector, and knows exactly how to deal with the intricacies of these cases. She is tenacious in trying to help her clients, with whom she is compassionate and informative. Her attitude brings results for her clients and the success of their claim can make an enormous difference to their future.”
