Blackpool hotel confirms opening

One of the newest hotels coming to Blackpool’s seaside resort has confirmed it will be opening this May.

Developers are putting the final touches to the new Hampton by Hilton hotel, which will open its doors at the end of May, following a £12m investment in redeveloping the former Palm Beach and Bourne Hotel site.

Situated on New South Promenade, the new Hampton by Hilton will have 130 rooms, along with a fitness centre and work-zone complete with views of the characterful Blackpool seafront.

Gill Mathison, director of Create Developments Blackpool Ltd, which owns the hotel and is responsible for renovating the site, said: “We’re delighted to be able to confirm our opening at the end of this month, with an official launch party in June. The new hotel will play a pivotal role in bringing additional revenue and tourism to the resort over a busy summer ahead.”

According to Gill the hotel has already generated a huge amount of interest and has been designed to plug a gap in the market place in Blackpool, with a unique proposition of high quality affordable family rooms, free hot breakfast, complimentary WIFI and a flexible working zone for corporate guests.

Gill said: “In particular we are expecting a lot of bookings from families, as the hotel has been designed to offer a perfect option for family breaks, due to our fantastic location near Blackpool Pleasure Beach and The Sandcastle Waterpark.  All of our standard rooms come with a sofa bed, making them an affordable and ideal option for small families and we have also invested in 52 larger double-double rooms which will sleep up to four guests, as well as interconnecting rooms for larger families.

“This is the first time the renowned Hampton by Hilton brand will open in the resort and we look forward to showcasing the new venue. After all the work which has gone into the development, I’m really excited to be opening our doors for business; from what I understand it is the first hotel to open in the resort in over 6 years.”

Hampton by Hilton is a global value brand known for providing travellers with a signature “Hamptonality” service. The new hotel on the promenade will offer high quality accommodation combined with a unique interior celebrating the culture of Blackpool, using feature walls and historic pictures.

Further events are planned ahead of the opening, including show rounds and the #Hampton Hangout, a selfie competition with the giant deck chair.
