Links Signs & Graphics spruces up The Big One

Blackpool based, Links Signs & Graphics has replaced signage on the Pleasure Beach’s iconic rollercoaster, The Big one.

The Pepsi Max cans, which surround a section of track on The Big One, had become weathered and no longer reflected the exciting rollercoaster they framed. Consequently, Links Signs and Graphics were commissioned to print and install all new signage to the cans, which are 4m wide and 8m from one side over to the other.

The Big One reaches 213ft at its highest point and cost £12millon to construct, touching speeds in excess of 85 miles per hour The Big One has been a staple of the Blackpool landscape for over two decades.

Carl Bennett, Director, Links Signs & Graphics, said: “The new lacquer finished signage provides a better, updated look and prevents the need for continuous maintenance.

“Because of the height and shape of the structures, we had to use a large scaffold structure to remove the old signage and install the new, even with this challenge, the team completed the job in only a day and a half.

“We are delighted with the end results and have received fantastic feedback from both the Please Beach and the Pepsi brand representatives.”
