IoD and UCLan to hold mock employment tribunal

The Institute of Directors (IoD) Lancashire in partnership with the Lancashire School of Business and Enterprise at UCLan is working with Cheadle based Vista Solicitors to present a mock employment tribunal as a learning experience on 21 March 2018. The team from Vista will present a Mock Employment Tribunal using a thought provoking case study to illustrate the risks and pitfalls employers and HR advisers face when contesting unfair dismissal and discrimination proceedings.

The event will take place at UCLan at the Darwin Building, Preston City Campus. The event will involve the audience, who will be provided with a trial bundle of evidence. Pre-selected volunteers will play the role of the witnesses in the case study, and the Vista team will play the legal roles as instructed by participant teams. It will be an insightful event and attendees will have the opportunity to get involved and have their say in what the outcome should be.

The event is free to attend for IoD members as well as UCLan staff, the first thirty places taken by UCLan students are also free. Please contact [email protected], to secure your place.
