kuckoo spread wings

A unique mix of cocktails and rock and roll music attracted visitors to Knutsford’s newest bar, Kuckoo, when it opened its doors on Thursday 16 November.
Following a complete renovation of the 180 sq. m premises in the town centre, local people and business workers enjoyed an evening of incredible drinks alongside an eclectic playlist of indie and rock and roll music.
Located on Princess Street, Kuckoo is the town’s first dedicated cocktail bar and boasts a team of professionally trained, full-time bartenders. The opening follows other recent successful launches for the brand in Chester, Preston and Sheffield.
The two-storey venue offers table service on both floors, plus a wine menu and draft beers alongside the 65 inspiring, classic and cool cocktails on the menu. The stylish venue is open seven days a week from 5pm (serving until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays).
The centrepiece of the renovation is an eye opening ‘Onyx’ style bar – a stunning, modern bar top and fascia, backlit in red to create a warm glow. The newly refurbished Kuckoo in Knutsford also includes luxurious leather and velvet seating areas, modernised washrooms and a striking black, granite floor with a sparkle effect.
The playlist at Kuckoo includes indie rock and roll favourites from various eras with popular tracks from Elvis and The Beatles to Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Stone Roses and The Strokes – providing a feel-good vibe and fun atmosphere.
Founder and owner of Kuckoo, Richard Powell, said: “Knutsford has never seen a bar with a single-minded view to cocktail making before. The dedicated staff are trained to the highest level and have a true passion for excellent customer service as well as creating fun and fantastic tasting cocktails.
“The refurbishment has provided an inviting venue for the local community and guests to Knutsford, creating a glamorous, feelgood atmosphere that sets Kuckoo apart from the competition.” The Kuckoo story began with the opening of Kuckoo Preston in 2010 followed by Chester, in 2013. The Chester bar was refurbished in January 2017 and Kuckoo in Sheffield opened earlier this year
