Lancashire SMEs are being reminded to put the date of the University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) latest business support event in their diaries.
The Introduction to Equity Investment workshop will take place on December 7 at the West Lancashire Investment Centre in Skelmersdale between 12pm – 4.30pm.
The free session is being held by the University’s Investment Readiness programme, which is led by experienced venture capital investors to help ambitious businesses strengthen their potential for securing equity investment.
It will provide an insight into the world of raising venture capital and business angel finance, from the processes and jargon to the legal and financial aspects, including an overview of what investors look for.
Part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), completion of the Investment Readiness programme will make it easier for businesses to access the most appropriate equity funding, while also making it easier for investors to back promising opportunities.
Chris Wynne, Investment Manager on UCLan’s Investment Readiness programme, said: “The equity investment market is primed for enthusiastic entrepreneurs and business owners with great ideas, drive and ambition for success. There are plenty of investment opportunities out there.”
