A Lancashire-based training network has appointed a new business manager to help in the drive to get more people back to work in the region.
Daniel Grahovac is leading the team at PHX Training, Morecambe, as it seeks to expand its funded learning services which aim to enable people of all ages find employment.
Daniel, has developed his specialist expertise within the employability and recruitment industry with more than eight years’ managerial experience within the government-funded sector.
Daniel said: “It’s a great time to join PHX Training as we grow our offer across the region in the key skills to help get people into relevant jobs across the board from individuals who need help in core skills such as English and maths to other more specific requirements.”
The Morecambe base offers training under the Journey2Work and Learndirect programmes including English, maths, IT, retail, employability and customer service.
Dan Scott, managing director at PHX Training, said: “Daniel brings a wealth of expertise to our business as we grow, and we look forward to expanding our offer in the area to those employers and learners who need it with guidance and advice at every level.”
As part of his role, Daniel will also be leading on the work-based learning contract for Lancashire. The European Skills Funded-contract will meet the needs of the individual, the employer and the gaps identified by the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership.
The programme, led by the Lancashire LEP Skills Support for the Workforce, aims to enhance employee skills and career prospects in basic skills and intermediate to higher level.
PHX Training, which has seven centres across Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside, offers courses in English and maths leading up to a level 2 qualification, the equivalent to a grade C at GCSE.
Other training programmes available through the network include business administration, customer service, IT, management, team leading, warehousing, hospitality, health and social care, cleaning services and sales and recruitment.
