Les Nutter, Managing Partner of Cassons has been elected to the EMEA Regional Board of BKR International, one of the top ten global accounting associations.
Les attended the first meeting of his 5-year term during the BKR Annual Worldwide Conference in London.
Les was formally elected to the EMEA board at the group’s regional meeting which took place in Singapore in May this year. He replaces Nilesh Shah from London based firm Blick Rothenberg, who had come to the end of his term.
BKR represents the combined strength of 160 independent accounting and business advisory firms in over 500 offices and 80 countries around the world.
Les said: “I feel honoured to be elected to the EMEA Regional Board of BKR International. It’s great recognition of the commitment that we as a firm have made both to BKR International and generally to global trade.
“Advances in technology and communications have made international trade more achievable for Lancashire businesses – and an enticing option for businesses looking to expand. Equally the UK is a highly desirable location for many overseas companies.
“Through our involvement in BKR, we have access to friendly and well-known faces at accounting firms around the world – people who can and do help our clients.
“And of course we too are then able to support and welcome the companies setting up in the UK whose parent companies are looked after by other BKR firms around the world.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge over the next 5 years, especially as we work through the implications for businesses of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.”
Les is also a Council Member and Director of East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, and becomes one of nine board members to represent the BKR member firms from the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
