Building surveyors and architects the JYM Partnership has put in the first footings for a new charity partnership with Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
Staff at the firm, which is based in Sceptre Way, Bamber Bridge, have handed over £150 for Rosemere’s 20 Years Anniversary Appeal. The money was raised through sponsorship when partner Chris Bell took part in a 10K run and colleagues associate partner Chris Shepherd and office manager Silvia completed 5K races.
In addition, a weekly staff breakfast club is also contributing to a collection that will be further boosted by a planned raffle. Silvia said: “We choose local charities to support throughout the year but having learned of Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 20 Years Anniversary Appeal, we have decided to make it the focus of our fundraising for the rest of 2017 and into next year.”
Cathy Skidmore, Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s corporate fundraising manager, said: “It’s fantastic that the JYM Partnership has come forward to work with us. Corporate support is vital to us whether that’s individuals undertaking an event and getting their colleagues to sponsor them or a collective effort such as ordering in breakfast once a week and giving an extra 10% to go into a collection tin so that pennies tot up.”
Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 20 Years Anniversary Appeal launched in March to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s regional specialist cancer treatment centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria, the Rosemere Cancer Centre, at the Royal Preston Hospital.
The centre provides all local radiotherapy among other specialist care, and through the appeal, Rosemere Cancer Foundation is working to fund a trio of ground-breaking projects there.
