A Lancaster based graphic designer has been selected to compete in School of Thought 2017.
Big Torch director and designer Steve Daniels has been chosen to compete in this years School of Thought. School of Thought is a competitive programme for 12 top creatives from the North West to challenge and perfect their ideas skills. But there’s a catch. Because the programme is about ideas and nothing else, applicants can only use pen and paper to present their ideas throughout the programme.
The application process was hard fought, with 12 places awarded based on the quality of the applicants thinking. Steve said “I’m so happy to get into this years School of Thought. Getting though the application process is a competition in itself, so it’s nice to hear I’ve already cleared a high bar by getting in.”
Steve and his fellow professionals will visit some of the best known creative agencies in the North West for two evenings each week. They’ll be challenged to pitch their ideas to the creative directors of BBC Creative, LOVE, Uniform and other top agencies across the North West.
Steve continued; “My clients often come to me with complex challenges that need creativity and big ideas. So you really can’t stand still when it comes to developing your skills. Perhaps the best thing about School of Thought is that it will give me more ways to deliver big ideas and creativity for my clients.”
The winner of School of Thought will be announced in Manchester on the evening of 7th December. The lucky creative will receive the prize of a once in a lifetime trip to the Cannes Lions advertising festival in 2018.
