FSB awards

The FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards 2018 are now open (11 September) and small businesses in the North West of England have until January 12 to enter for free. The awards will celebrate the best of the region’s 245,000 small businesses and their vast contribution to both local and national economies. The North West area winners of 12 award categories will be announced at an award ceremony in March and will then go forward to the national UK FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards final, where the overall FSB UK Small Business of the Year 2018 will be announced, in May 2018.

FSB regional chairman for Lancashire & Cumbria Gary Lovatt said: “For a chance to be recognised as the best small business in the North West, as well as in the whole UK, I’d encourage all small businesses to enter the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards. SMEs are a vital part of the North West – contributing so much to the economy and making our region a more exciting place in which to live, work, study and visit.”

  • Business Exporter of the Year

Andrew Mann
After 34 years working in numerous operational and communications disciplines for three FTSE companies (Yorkshire Electricity; Meggitt and BAE Systems), at over a dozen locations, on 24 November 2016, I became the inaugural editor of Business Lancashire. Business Lancashire is a good news, Lancashire focused, business website and daily newsletter. It is a partnership between The Samuel James Group and the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. Over the years, I have written hundreds of press releases, features for trade magazines, copy for websites and brochures, edited in-house magazines and newsletters, as well as presenting a radio programme on Chorley FM. This experience has given me the ideal background for editing Business Lancashire.
