Bay Dental Team to Complete 24 Hour Bicycle Race for Charity

The Bay Dental team, based in Lancaster, will be taking on the ultimate challenge, as they tackle the world-famous Isle of Man TT Mountain Course as a 24-hour bicycle race on 24th September.

The team will be raising money for children’s charity Together for Short Lives.

The charity aims to provide the best care and support for children and young people who are expected to have short lives.

Neil Entwistle, partner of Bay Dental, said: “Although this is a challenging test for our physical ability, it is all made worthwhile knowing we are ultimately helping the lives of children less fortunate.

“The Together for Short Lives charity is an amazing cause with a mission to secure the best quality of life possible for terminally ill children, something which we all deserve.”

The TT Mountain Course, established in 1911, is usually completed by motorcycles at 130mph, but will be taken on by Dr. Neil Entwistle and Dr. Mark Brickles of Bay Dental on their bicycles.

Taking on a challenge of this size will no doubt be a great personal achievement for Neil and Mark, while also meeting their goal of bettering the lives of those less fortunate.

Neil and Mark will be non-stop cycling for 24 Hours seeing how many laps they can accomplish of the TT Mountain Course.

The Mountain Course consists of 38 miles covering 2132 feet per lap with never-ending surprises of bumps, jumps, stone walls and manhole covers.

Each lap features the ‘Mountain Mile’, an incline up Snaefell, which will ensure this is no comfortable ride for the pair.

Mark Brickles, partner of Bay Dental, said: “Cycling is a passion of mine however I think this ride will certainly prove demanding but it is worthwhile knowing we are helping a meaningful charity.”
