WEST Craven Insurance Services held its sixth annual golf day event last Friday, with the nine competing teams raising £2290 for Pendleside Hospice.
A number of local businesses entered teams, including Silentnight and Burnley Leisure who went on to be the overall winners.
Following bacon butties and registration players took to the course for the Texas Scramble before heading back to the club house for a pie and pea’s supper, presentation and auction.
West Craven Insurance Services Director Lisa Parker, said: “Once again, everybody really enjoyed the event – it was a great day.
“The event was at Ghyll Golf Club this year and we can’t thank them enough for all their help and hospitality.” added Lisa.
“They’re a fantastic family club and share our ethos of putting something back into our community so we’re very grateful for all their support. It enabled us to raise a massive £2290 as part of our fundraising efforts for this year’s Corporate Challenge for Pendleside Hospice.
“Special thanks must also go to all the great companies that offered raffle and auction prizes including Silver Cross who donated a brand new pushchair. as well as New Balance and Lancashire County Cricket Club, who kindly donated some great sporting memorabilia.”

Proceeds from their Golf Day and their other Corporate Challenge events, will support the vital work we do to promote and enhance quality of life for people with a life-limiting illness, and their families.”
