Foundation Named In Prestigious Role Call of Honour

AFC Fylde Community Foundation have made it as finalists in two categories in the North West’s most prestigious business awards.

The Foundation has been nominated as finalists for two coveted BIBA awards. The charity, which delivers a diverse array of community programmes across the Fylde Coast, is a contender for both the Third Sector Business of the Year Award and the Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award at this year’s highly contested ceremony.

The BIBAS, organised by the North West Chamber of Commerce, are regarded as Lancashire’s premier awards, recognising the very best in business.

The process for each award category has seen the Foundation undergo a vigorous and thorough assessment. This includes a detailed application form outlining why the organisation should be considered for an honour followed by an interview with a judging panel which entails a full site visit and tour of AFC Fylde’s impressive Mill Farm sports village.

With their sights firmly set on lifting what are regarded as the Oscars of the business community, the team at the Foundation are determined to do everything they can to showcase the work they do and impress the all- important decision makers.

Foundation Director Tom Hutton is understandably proud of seeing his team in the roll call of honour for two awards. He said: “I have an incredible team that are committed to working with and supporting the local community. We have been enjoying tremendous success with our projects and to have this recognised by the BIBAs is an enormous achievement for the Foundation. As well as very large and respected business organisations, there are only two other established premier league and football league clubs nominated for the awards final, so it demonstrates what we have achieved in a relatively short space of time.

“My growing team of staff work incredibly hard across the community to ensure what we deliver is the very best it can be and to receive acknowledgement of this is a tremendous boost – not only for me but everybody involved with the Community Foundation. “
