New portal to access University’s fresh talent

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has launched a new online service to help businesses connect with the University’s freshest creative talent.

Spark of Talent (SPOT) is a portfolio based website which has been created by UCLan’s Innovation Lab, a team made up of web development, design and media production students.

Users can browse through a range of portfolios and CVs of the University’s creative students and graduates, before contacting them with relevant opportunities, such as temporary, permanent or freelance positions.

Businesses can also upload job vacancies for students to browse through and apply for.

The Innovation Lab recruits and mentors University graduates and undergraduates, providing them with work experience opportunities and helping them develop their employability skills.

Danny Livingstone, Project Manager at the Innovation Lab, said: “This is a great opportunity for businesses who will be able to use the website to engage with UCLan’s brightest creative talent, share job vacancies and potentially recruit new staff to enable their business to grow.

“We’d encourage anyone interested in how SPOT can benefit them to get in touch to find out more.”
