Success at International Chocolate Awards for Lancashire’s Choc Amor

Choc Amor was successful in gaining at International Chocolate Awards 2017 British Champions, Gold (Three Pepper), Silver (Salt & Pepper Lemongrass) and two Bronze (Bitter Orange and Turkish Charm 50%). At the Academy of Chocolates 2017 Choc Amor gained two Silvers (Three Pepper and Turkish Charm)

The International Chocolate Awards were founded in 2012 and are run by a group of independent international partners based in the UK, Italy and the USA, with years of experience tasting and evaluating chocolate and running fine chocolate related events. The rules and judging are overseen by permanent Grand Jury members, Country Partners and independent experts, who set the rules of the Awards based on ongoing consultation with all entrants.

Winners of the regional competitions are now allowed to enter World Finals, which celebrates the best entries of the year and are judged during London Chocolate Week in October.

By making consumers more aware of the hard work and craft that goes into the best fine chocolate products, the International Chocolate Awards helps the fine chocolate industry to grow and develop in established regions as well as new markets. By helping to identify the best chocolate made with the best cacao, we hope to help chocolate makers, chocolatiers and cacao farmers continue to succeed at producing the world’s best fine cacao and fine chocolate.

The Academy of Chocolate was founded in 2005 by five of Britain’s leading chocolate professionals, united in the belief that eating fine chocolate is one of life’s great pleasures. Academy members meet to taste, discuss, demonstrate and debate issues regarding sourcing, transparency and the journey from bean to bar.  As a result it is difficult for consumers to find a selection of fine chocolate and make up their own minds.

The Academy campaigns for better chocolate and to promote a greater awareness of the difference between fine chocolate and the mass-produced chocolate confectionery which most of us eat.

Paul Williams (aka Wonka), Director and Umpa Lumpa Rustler at Choc Amor says…..

“We are completely amazed, not just by getting 6 awards for our flavoured chocolate but winning a coveted Gold award for our “Three Pepper” house dark chocolate.

These Awards helps to confirm that we are still building a great Lancashire brand based on taste and this makes us stand out from others. By winning at the International Awards we are invited to submit the winners to the World Finals held in London later in the year so watch this space.

Also a big thank you to our wonderful team who have helped to put Choc Amor at Cedar Farm, Mawdesley on the map. We could not have managed to get this far without them, so thank you.”
