Haleys Business Advisers of Preston has appointed Chartered Accountant Jimmy Moore to the role of Client Manager. The role represents a strengthening of the management team and is part of a wider expansion plan for the business.
As well as management skills Jimmy Moore brings seven years accountancy experience acting for a wide range of SME’s.
Haleys provides financial, taxation and commercial expertise to established business owners. A new division was launched at the end of 2016, R+D Tax Experts by Haleys, to focus on assisting businesses in the North West to claim under the Government’s R&D Tax Credit scheme. By March of this year Haleys had claimed over £1 million on behalf of clients and the business is now heading towards the £2 million landmark. Growth in this area, alongside other advisory aspects of the business, has prompted a recruitment drive and further appointments will be announced shortly.
Before becoming a Chartered Accountant, Jimmy was a professional rugby union player with a career spanning eight years. He played for Sale Sharks, Coventry and Cornish Pirates before retiring prematurely due to injury in 2010. During his time as a professional rugby player Jimmy went to college to study accountancy and qualified as an AAT. Following retirement from rugby the obvious step was to move into the accountancy profession and Jimmy qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2015.
Tim Haley said, ‘We’re very happy to welcome Jimmy to the team. He’s a great fit for our management style and will play an important part in our plans for the future.
Haleys is closely associated with Preston Grasshoppers RFC, having been main shirt sponsor in the 2016/17 season, and is a founder member of the Hoppers Business Network. Jimmy Moore said, ‘There are many parallels with sport and business and it’s great to be joining such a professional team, particularly one that supports local rugby.’
