Celebrating a decade’s success and ready for the next

In the years since Susan Rashid founded SR Supply Chain Consultants, she’s taken few opportunities to pause and reflect on the business’s success. The ten-year anniversary of the initial set-up now provides the chance to do just that.

Progressing from an idea to becoming a respected and recognised CIPS centre of excellence, with training centres across the UK and course delegates from all around the globe is testament to the hard work and dedication of Susan and her team.

SRSCC is a specialist in procurement training. The original aims of the organisation were to offer a clear, structured and supported training route for students to attain the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualifications, but the provision of courses has widened. Now SRSCC offers a wide range of subjects, including one-day courses suitable for those with little or no experience of procurement. The organisation’s ability to tailor provision to its clients’ needs has seen it form strong partnerships with corporate bodies, public-sector institutions and several NHS Trusts.

SRSCC is based in Preston, Lancashire, but keeps expanding its reach. Students can attend courses in Preston, Manchester or London. New training centres are being established in Warrington, Birmingham and Wolverhampton. In addition, there are E-learning methods for online study. Susan Rashid commented, “If students want to learn with us, we’ll do what we can to reach them, wherever they are, with the most appropriate teaching materials and methods. Our tutors are first class – that’s evident by our results – and we believe everyone in business, commerce or in the not-for-profit sector can benefit from our courses.”

After a decade of success, there are no plans at SRSCC to slow down. The consultancy has just received its ISO 9001 certification and has recently become part of the Lancashare initiative, a business hub designed to promote co-operation and support economic growth in the county. For the SRSCC team, the next ten years could be every bit as demanding, exciting and rewarding as the first ten.
