Lancashire businesses set to showcase expertise alongside Google

Lancashire digital agencies will be joining experts from Google to help businesses in the borough grow online.

Preston-based agency Motionlab and the Google Digital Garage will be delivering free seminars to businesses on how they can use digital marketing to increase sales as part of the Wigan Digital Marketing Roadshow, on 7 June at DW Stadium.

Dr Jayne Rodgers, from Google Digital Garage, said: “We’re delighted to announce our first visit to the North West, and look forward to shedding light on how to unlock the sales potential of businesses in the borough using search engine optimisation and Google analytics.”

Simon Iredale, CEO of Motionlab, said: “Having evolved the business from a one-man business in a bedroom to a 40-strong agency working with some of the UK’s biggest brands, it’s really important that we support fellow businesses in the region to get the most out of digital and prosper.”

The event, which will be held between 9.30am-3.30pm, has been set up by events company Launch Events North West, to support businesses that want to learn new digital marketing skills.

The day will also include debates on women working in the tech industry, featuring a panel of female experts, and a panel debate on why businesses should invest in online marketing.

Digital Marketing Roadshow founder Nichola Howard, director of Leigh-based Launch Events North West, said: “When I started out four years ago, I felt fearful of spending limited budgets on investing in working with digital and creative agencies, mainly due to my lack of understanding after receiving conflicting advice. I know I am not alone in feeling like this, so wanted to help bring agencies together with businesses to demystify all things digital..”

Andrea Gibson from Global Payments, sponsor of the Digital Marketing Roadshow, said: “Technology is moving so fast that businesses of all sizes can struggle to keep up. It is fantastic to bring experts and businesses together in one room at the Roadshow to make sure no business gets left behind.”
