Hussain Architectural Design are winners at the Worldwide Business Review Enterprise Award

Hussain Architectural Design is excited to announce that they have won both the Multi-Disciplinary Architectural Design Firm 2017 & the Excellence Award for Advocacy of Women in Construction at the UK Enterprise Awards 2017.

Hussain Architectural Design Ltd a female-led architectural practice was founded by then 23 year old Saira Hussain in 2011; the business has expanded to Burnley, Huddersfield, Blackburn, Manchester, and London.

Saira Hussain said: ‘Women have made great advances in the world of work. The employment rate for women continues to rise and today there are more women in work than ever before however, in construction progress has been appallingly slow. Only 11 % of the construction workforce and just % of workers on site are women. Furthermore, the gender pay gap in construction is still wider than in other industries. In my opinion women must be central to the modernisation of the construction industry and for a female-led practice to be recognised in the worldwide business magazine awards is a step in the right direction. HAD will continue to work towards better working conditions for women in architecture and construction.’

Burnley practice manager, Nixie Edwards said: “it’s overpowering to see passion, time, and effort get noticed and awarded. We’re really proud to be part of this industry, and love to find architectural solutions to the challenges that our clients may face.

HAD will be opening their new property consultancy (HAD & CO) on Derby ST in Manchester in the coming weeks, services include, property consulting, investment, architecture, building control and planning throughout Greater Manchester.
