Lancaster based Single Malt finalises branding of new Manchester Airport lounge

Single Malt, a creative studio based in the heart of the North West of England, has revealed its involvement in the branding of a new lounge at Manchester Airport, called 1903.

The creative design studio designed all branding and supporting material for the lounge, which opens in April this year, including digital imagery and all printed media such as menus, advertising and stationery.

Manchester Airport tasked Single Malt to develop an exciting brand for the lounge, which boasts spectacular views of the airfield and offers guests complete luxury, including a chef and complimentary bar.

The lounge is named after the year of the Wright Brothers’ first flight and has seating facilities for up to 71 guests at any one time. It has created a highly informal, calm environment for Manchester Airport’s passengers to relax and unwind, with breath-taking views of the airport runway and an abundance of in-lounge screens providing regularly updated boarding information.

John Porter, Director at Single Malt said: “We are delighted to be such a big part of the launch for 1903 and it is great to see the brand come to life. The team here at Single Malt are proud to work with Manchester Airport where they can really see the end result of their work in place and being used daily.”

The 1903 Lounge is located in Terminal 3 in Manchester Airport. All guests to the lounge will be supplied with an automatic Fast Track security pass to ensure people reach the lounge as swiftly as possible.

With unlimited Wi-Fi, a plethora of device charging points and complimentary food and drink upon arrival, 1903 has been designed to help couples and business travellers begin their journey in complete luxury.

Beth Brewster, executive vice president of business development and lounges for Manchester Airports Group, said: “We have a close working relationship with Single Malt after the great work they have done for our Escape Lounge brand, so they were an easy choice for our new 1903 lounge.

“The team really took the time to listen to us, find out what our objectives were and worked with us to deliver a high quality product for our customers. We felt the team really understood the 1903 lounge concept and developed a strong brand proposition based on our brief.”
