Perfect Recruitment proud to support Parklands High School for Young Chamber programme

Parklands High School in Chorley is the latest Lancashire school to take advantage of a unique sponsorship opportunity offered to them by Chorley based business Perfect Recruitment.

Following interest from businesses wishing to work closer with their local schools and communities, the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce launched its ‘sponsor a school’ campaign.

The campaign gives businesses an opportunity to work with and support a local school of their choice and is part of the Young Chamber initiative.

Commenting on the new partnership with Parklands High School, Lisa Brady, company Director at Perfect Recruitment said:

“As a company we were in the process of looking at ways to give something back to the local community, this seemed an ideal opportunity to do just that.  Perfect Recruitment, a Catering and Hospitality agency based in Lancashire and has been trading for the last 10 years.

“Our team believes passionately in the Food and beverage industry. We wanted to highlight the career prospects for our industry at grass roots. I was delighted to be paired with Parklands High School with their recently developed catering facilities we feel it is a perfect match.”

The Young Chamber programme, launched in 2016 by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, is one which local schools and colleges can join to boost prospects for pupils and students.  It aims to provide young people with a real and meaningful understanding of business, jobs, careers and the range of potential opportunities that exist once they leave education.

Claire Hollister, Headteacher at Parklands High School said:

“I’m delighted to be involved with the Young Chamber programme.  Along with Miss Berry, our dedicated Careers Adviser and Coordinator, we are looking forward to collaborating with businesses from a variety of industries. We are really keen to further improve our excellent careers offer.

“This programme will ensure that our pupils will have access to the best possible, high quality opportunities and experiences. I am confident that this will enable them to make well-informed, confident decisions before embarking upon their chosen career path. Working with the Young Chamber will benefit our students so they can take full advantage of the government’s commitment to delivering 3 million apprenticeships by 2020.

“Collaborating with Young Chamber, through a series of workshops, guest speakers and enterprise initiatives that will be delivered in our school, will benefit our students. We hope to inspire our pupils to become the business leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

“It is essential that during their time in school, we are preparing our pupils for the world of work. The more exposure they receive to the global world of business, the broader the range of employability skills they will develop, ensuring that they become diverse and well-rounded prospects for future employers.”
