1,000 Celebrate Lancashire Motorcycle Dealership 10th Birthday

More than 1,000 people attended a free party to celebrate Bowker Harley-Davidson’s (www.bowkerhd.com ) 10th year of trading on Saturday April 1st.

The Preston motorcycle dealership  on Strand Road joined forces with Chorley rock band Marauder; Cumbrian caterers Spit and Crackle; and, Harley-Davidson UK to host a birthday party.

Brand manager Greg Lockhart thanked all those who attended.

Greg said: “Thanks to everyone who visited and enjoyed the fun on Saturday. It was great to see so many people there: old friends and new. Some of the people have been with us right from the start. So you can imagine we had plenty to catch up about.”

The dealership opened in 2007 on Strand Road in Preston. The launch celebration of Harley-Davidson Preston, as it was then called, attracted more than 1,000 visitors. Riders from throughout Lancashire celebrated the new £2 million dealership.

Greg adds: “Back in 2007, the Proclaimers Comic Relief single 500 Miles was number one. Our ten-year journey since then has taken us a bit further! Our staff and customers have travelled thousands and thousands of miles together.

“We’ve enjoyed rideouts for charity; amazing events like Wake the Lakes; and, many more adventures on two wheels.

“It’s easy to get distracted by all the stunning motorcycles and fashion we display in the dealership. But, it’s just as much about the friends you ride with and the stories we share. And that’s what we celebrated on April 1st.”

After eight years, in 2015, the dealership had a six-figure refurbishment and reopened as Bowker Harley-Davidson.

The re-modelled dealership featured design elements inspired by shipping containers. The shipping containers celebrate Lancashire-based Bowker Transport – Bowker Motor Group’s international distribution and road haulage sister company. The dealership also opened a new mezzanine level cafe called The Diner with an extended menu and free WiFi.

The celebration on Saturday April 1st featured product demo and displays from Vance and Hines, Roland Sands designs; Mustang seats; Progressive Suspension; Performance Machine and Kuryakyn.
