boohooMAN & Community Forge a Healthy Relationship

Burnley FC in the Community are delighted to announce a 3-year deal with online fashion giant boohooMAN. Following extensive discussions that began at the beginning of the season, the unique partnership will see boohooMAN donate £10,000 a year to support the delivery of Burnley FC in the Community’s Healthy Weight Management programme.

The Healthy Weight Management programme is just one of the community projects delivered by Burnley FC in the Community across the East Lancashire region. A dedicated team of health professionals will provide a number of courses supporting the health and well-being of those ranging from school children to over 50’s.

The program was launched in April 2015 and the 12-week programme aims to improve people overall health. After an initial health check individuals are supported through a combination of workshops, physical activity, health checks and fitness tests to achieve improvements to their health. Physical activity sessions include circuit training, HIIT training, fitness testing and gym sessions, delivered by qualified coaches.

Over 211 males have taken part in the programme since it launched with successful results achieved. The males lost a combined total of over 147 stone, improved their hydration on average by 8.4% and 88% of individuals saw an improvement in their fitness levels upon completion.  This exciting partnership with boohooMAN will enable Burnley FC in the Community to continue to run this programme for a further 3-years.

Following on from the success of boohoo, boohooMAN launched a stand-alone platform in 2016 offering a dedicated trend led fast fashion destination for men. With new product hitting the site every week and the launch of regular capsule collections, boohooMAN is an example of the global success of online fashion.

The boohoo group is committed to supporting a wide range of local initiatives to make a real difference and this latest partnership aims to form a stronger bond between the company and work of Burnley FC in the Community. The sponsorship deal will also allow employees at the boohooMAN Burnley Operations Centre to access the 12-week Healthy Weight Management programme to equip staff with the tools required to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The company recognises the importance of employee’s health and well-being and the direct impact this can have on productivity and morale at work.

Neil Hart, Burnley FC in the Community’s Chief Executive Officer said: “We are delighted that boohooMAN have chosen to support our Healthy Weight Management programme. As such a large employer in the area it’s fantastic to see the benefits they are bringing to the local community both in terms of employment and also their passionate attitude towards supporting local causes. We look forward to seeing the positive impact the partnership will bring to the local community of Burnley.

A statement from boohooMAN said,“boohooMAN are delighted to be partnering with Burnley FC over the next 3 years to help with the progression of such a great initiative. We are extremely proud to be part of the Burnley community and share the same sense of responsibility when it comes to ensuring we have a positive impact on society as a whole”.

With support from Burnley FC Health Ambassador George Boyd the Weight Management programme is a further example of Burnley FC in the Community’s commitment to the health and wellbeing of those in the local community and this new sponsorship deal will see exciting times ahead.
