WEC Group expands engineering operations to Scotland

WEC Group Ltd, one of the largest engineering and fabrication companies in the UK, has opened a brand new office in Glasgow, Scotland to facilitate the company’s rapid growth.

WEC Group’s operations primarily took place in the North of England, before expanding to the West Midlands in 2016 when the company acquired Coventry-based HTA Group and opened its first sales office in Stafford.

Due the Group’s growing customer base in Scotland, this recent development is designed to offer an improved working relationship with its existing customers in the area, as well as opening the door to new opportunities.

Wayne Wild, Group Commercial Director, said: “This is a step in the right direction for WEC Group as it improves our locality and relationships with suppliers and customers.

“The new Glasgow and Stafford offices are just the starting point of our expansion across the UK, and they already have great potential for growing the Group’s manufacturing divisions even further.”

The Lanarkshire Eurocentral Business Centre office is the second to be opened by WEC outside of the North in the past 12 months. Located in the south east of Glasgow in Motherwell, the office is now up and running with a dedicated Business Development Manager, with plans to expand the workforce in the near future.

As the company continues to expand across the UK, WEC Group is now recruiting field based sales representatives in Dublin and Belfast for the first time as a way of expanding its specialist laser cutting services further.

WEC Group has now become one of the largest profiling operations in the UK’s fabrication and engineering sector, boasting 21 state-of-the-art flat-bed laser cutting machines, 2 tube lasers, 4 waterjet cutting machines and 24 press brakes as well as full in-house fabrication, powder coating and CNC machining facilities.
