Bowker Motor Group has appointed its first-ever group development manager.
Katy Baxter from Preston has accepted the newly-created role at the Lancashire-based motor group.
The new appointment means a return, for Katy, to the business she left less than a year ago to join MINI UK as a regional manager.
Before that, Katy had worked for Bowker Preston since 2008 in several senior sales roles.
Now, as group development manager, Katy will work closely with the Bowker BMW, MINI, Motorrad, Maserati and Harley-Davidson franchises in Blackburn, Preston and Osbaldeston.
She will be specifically responsible for the finance and insurance performance of the business. Katy will head up the team of retail sales managers and retention specialists focussing on the experience of customers choosing finance and insurance with the group.
Katy Baxter said,
“It’s good to be back! I’ve enjoyed a variety of sales roles in car retail. But this new group role is an exciting personal challenge and feels like the perfect next step for me.
“I’ve always found working for a family business a good fit for me. Nothing ever stands still at Bowker. Everyone is so ambitious and driven. You only need to look at the recent investments in staff, property and new dealership acquisitions to appreciate this and these were big reasons for coming back.”

Bowker Preston is opening a new 30-ramp aftersales facility in Preston. The Bowker Aftersales Centre will be the largest of its kind in north west of England creating over 30 new jobs over the next five years. The centre is being built next to the existing Bowker BMW and MINI centres on a 6.5 acre site on Watery Lane in Preston.
Already this year Bowker Motor Group has been recognised for their exceptional performance in aftersales customer satisfaction. Their BMW centres on Trident Park in Blackburn and on the docks in Preston finished first and second respectively out of more than 20 BMW & MINI centres in the Northern region.
