The New Year will see an innovative new training course launched by the AFC Fylde Community Foundation.

Working in partnership with Virtual Learning UK (VLUK), the Foundation will begin delivering the Traineeships programme in January 2017.

The course is aimed at men and women aged between 16-24 years old and will focus on multiple different learning outcomes throughout the sessions.

The students will work towards achieving qualifications throughout the 12 week programme focusing on employability skills; work experience; support with English and Math’s; the principles of coaching sport (Level 2); and also a NGB qualification in coaching football.

Students will attend the 12-week programme on a full-time basis during which the Foundation and VLUK will provide a small bursary to assist with transport. Once students have reached the end of the course, they will receive a Level 2 award in theprinciples of coaching sport.

Extended Services lead Chris McNally is excited to get the new year off to a flying start with the launch of the course and said: “The Traineeships programme provides a fantastic opportunity for students across the Fylde Coast.  As well as being an interesting and educational 12 week course, the students will finish their time with us better equipped and with a far greater understanding of the industry whilst also having achieved recognised and respected qualifications to enable them to go on to better things.

“It’s a great programme and one which myself and everyone else at the Foundation is really excited to get underway in January. 2017 promises to be an incredible year for the Foundation and the Fylde Coast. It’s our resolution to make AFC Fylde Community Foundation even bigger and better.”
