Lancashire Backs Lancashare B2B Portal

A new business-to- business portal specifically designed to aid companies in Lancashire has launched at an event at Stanley House, last week.

‘Lancashare’ sets out to change the ways of doing business in the county by providing a central hub for information. The website features a business directory, job vacancies, funding opportunities, skills and training information, tender portal, as well as events, awards and networking groups.

The brainchild of Lisa Edge, who has spent the last 16 years’ working in the education sector helping to upskill and boost businesses across the county; Lancashare has already received overwhelming support having signed up more than 150 companies and 11,000 web visits to date.

Lisa Edge, director of Lancashare Limited, said: “I engage with employers every single day and see the huge gap that exists when trying to find information and share best practice.

Everyone I’d meet would voice their particular barriers to growth, recruiting, funding and winning more business locally.

“The county has many wonderful support organisations, funding opportunities, networking groups, business awards and skilled individuals, and having everything in one place to compare services will save employers time and money.”

Lancashire has so far received backing from NWL Chamber of Commerce, Royal Bank of Scotland, Federation of Small Businesses, Global Radio, Accrington & Rossendale College, Burnley College, LHR, SRSCC, Moose Media, Bespoke Bids, The Write Angle, Blackburn Rovers, The Shout Network, Forbes Solicitors, BNI and UCLan.

Lisa continued: “More businesses are signing up every day, so clearly the service was needed. I worked alongside local employers to ensure it met various needs and delivered real return on investment, as the only way for the county to succeed is to ensure the business community works together and invests locally.”
